“Unwind - knitting for your body and mind”

I love Six Feet Under because it can pick up important and realistic details about human behavior. For instance this metaphorical unwinding utilizes ancient trope of dissatisfied wife wrapped up in knitting.

Amor and Psyche (1843-1848) by Christen Kobke

I think Thorvaldsens Museum in Copenhagen is very likely one of the most beautiful museums I will ever visit. I loved the colorful classic architecture and excess of different interiors, spaces and materials.

Logos: Apple (1977)

Designed by Rob Janoff

Here´s an interesting interview of Janoff. Apparently there´s lot of interesting tidbits about this design.

” What does the bite in the apple represents? Is it a reference to a computing term byte? Is it a reference to the biblical event when Eve bit into the forbidden fruit? Is the fruit itself referencing the discovery of gravity by Newton when an apple fell on his head while sitting under the tree?” (grabbed from the interview)

This is a short film, typically 3-channel projection, but also a film still (c-print).

V for Vendetta (2006)

Guy Fawkes look-a-like has a quite a few masterpieces: Bacchus and Ariadne by Titian, Lady of Shalott by Waterhouse and the Arnolfini Portrait by Jan van Eyck among the many.

What point does the cornucopia of art historical treasures here serve for? A political agenda? Revolution? I don´t think so.

Gotta love suffering Saint Sebastian though! And also Ariadne is my personal hero: she helped Theseus out of the Minotaure´s labyrinth with a ball of yarn and got dumped by the so-called hero of the myth. Luckily Bacchus came along!

I love the red props on the last one too. Brilliant!
